Site Remediation

D&R Earthmoving can be counted on to properly complete your site remediation. Site remediation typically involves removing contaminated soil. Removing soil contamination from the subsurface often eliminates the source of toxic substances. This is also a preventative measure to safeguard future occupants from carcinogen exposure.

Contaminated soil remediation can often be accomplished simply by removing the problematic soil. Typically, the cost effective vertical limitation for soil contamination removal projects ranges between 1 to 20 feet below the ground surface, though in some cases, deeper depths may prove to be worthwhile.

Equally important to the soil contamination removal work is the confirmation sampling. During the excavation, confirmation soil sampling is necessary to verify the completion of source removal. This is a required step in the remedial action process. And in most cases, a regulatory agency will ask to review the results of confirmation sample laboratory data.

Environmental Excavating

Generally, excavation is not a stand-alone remedy and is most often combined with disposal in a Corrective Action Management Unit (CAMU), landfill, or in conjunction with in-situ stabilization or in-situ remediation as part of a combined remedy.

Landfills can be constructed on-site to manage the waste in accordance with regulatory requirements, but most often the waste is disposed off site in a permitted landfill. Prior to disposal in a non-hazardous landfill, pretreatment may be required, which we also coordinate.

Protection from damage, erosion control, soil remediation, and soil stability are evaluated for potential issues. We supply creative solution-focused options to address your specific site needs.
